Jesus' birth (2:1-20); consecration (2:21-40); celebration with friends (2:41-520; temptation (4:1-13); teaching (4:14-25); selection of companions (5:1-11, 27-32, 6:12-16).
Jesus comforts his disciples (6:20-21) and teaches about a way of life based on love (6:27-36) not judgment (6:37-42). You will know those who chose this way of life by what they do (6:43-49; 11:33-36). Woe to false teachers (11:37-54).
Jesus is amazed by the faith of the centurion (7:1-10). His heart goes out to the widow who lost a son (7:11-17). Jesus has compassion and heals a large number of people who come in contact with him.
Jesus teaches his disciples to pray (11:1-13). His parables (stories that contain a message) are scattered throughout the book.
"Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures... '...repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations...'" (24:45-47).
