"...it is God who works in you to will and act according to his good purpose." (2:13). "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." (3:14). "Rejoice in the Lord always... Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." (4:4, 8, 9).
Paul says, "...I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I can do everything through him who gives me strength." (4:11, 13).
In 4:10-20, Paul thanks the Philippians for the gifts they sent him -- it gives them a chance to share in the rewards of his work.
