"Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword." (6:4). In Zechariah 1:8 the man riding a red horse is standing in a ravine among myrtle trees. In Nehemiah 8:15 myrtle trees are in the hill country and in Isaiah 41:19 myrtle is in the desert.
The geographical reference is probably the Middle East since the authors were located in the Middle East when they wrote these books. Does this mean peace will be taken from the hilly and desert areas of the Middle East? Or people from hilly and desert areas of the Middle East will take peace from the world?
